I cannot remember if I actually saw it on TV or just the pictures. But I knew, that my 6th grade graduation dress was inspired by the gown. The wedding itself seemed so far away, something that happened in a far away land - like a storybook. So unlike this one that CNN and others are covering like the Olympic games - where they actually used spent minutes of airtime showing the red carpet unrolled from one of the doors of the Abbey - Oy vey! I am not going to stay up to see the dress, but I am sure I will be so over it after 5 minutes tomorrow.

The Day Wore Blue
Public gardens are just my thing. Last Saturday, I had the family dropped me off the curb by the SF Botanical Garden and let me loose in 70 acres of botany heaven. I pretty much ignored the guide - maps stump me anyway - and just walked wherever my fancy took me. Lots of blue and purple blooms - must be God's fave hues. Fell in love with the Garden of Fragrance with Francis of Assisi in the middle of it all. There were birds and chipmunks everywhere, and older couples just silently hanging out on the benches. I so heart gardens.
Sunny side up flowers
caught in the act of fleeing
My most fave
I stopped and breathe.

Eat and Run
Last Friday, we drove to SF to exalt at Alaia's first real job in a restaurant. We saddled up to the bar - behind which is the open kitchen - and shamelessly cheered on as Alaia grated heaps of ginger. Proud.
There she was.
Papaya Salad she julienned herself.
Then the next morning, I dragged the hubby to the Bayshore Trail on the edge of Brisbane and ran while the bay slept. The route included the backyard of the corporate office of Walmart and Chinese brew Tsing tao.
We felt good.
