sigh!

I had been so non-productive lately. Instead of doing my required readings at school (tons of which piling up on top of one another), or doubling up on the studying on epi classes that I am on the verge of flunking, or thinking of journal-worthy articles on such stimulating topics as long term care or Medicare and minorities, I am checking out other people's blog sites instead. Or watching the Idol, Colbert Report, Daily Show or Top Designer or the Food Network. Ayyy.

so many days

The book I'd like to have time to read - soon.

My guilty pleasure - loooooovvvvve the show!
The bookstore showcase at Ikea I am trying to copy for my store.

more of the bookstore.

my two gifts.

the gem stones that Niko somehow unearthed from his room to give me on Valentine's Day.

the chocolates I got from Alaia - looks pricey, but not.

I think these are the oranges from our tree.

missing days

Do you think this girl needs any more attention?
Anyway, I have not been able to do any blogging lately. Had been so busy.

I ran!

I did it. It was pouring rain too. The whole time, I felt like my toes were clutching at the trail - I was terrified to fall on my face. I was dead tired before the 2nd mile -- can you believe that? But I hauled my butt into the finish line in 43 minutes. My foot hurts for two days now. I just started to move my legs without without making face. And oh yeah, I will do it again.

overwhelmed!

Tons of things to do -- endless, relentless, merciless. Had a test today - could not study very well yesterday because of the damn Superbowl ads (those bud commercials were really funny though!). Will have a test on Wednesday - a very long one which I have not studied about to date, to time - 10 minutes before Tuesday. Supposed to make a reference list/compendium of literature review and scholarly what-not for a project at school - just started it now (in between blogging) - due tomorrow. Has an article to write for a local paper - I think due this week since it is for Valentine's. Have to run the race on Sunday but just started to run again yesterday due to paralyzing pain to upper limbs after the rock climbing episode. Fatigued. Sleepy. And still a million things undone.

check the very funny (and I think ethnically offensive) bud light commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hw_kHH3zJGY.

Not So Ordinary Days

I am still sore from that rock-climbing stunt on Wednesday. I think I am getting old. It is taking me days to recover from such activity as climbing a synthetic rock wall. It is not like a climb the face of Mt. Everest. Speaking of getting old - I am getting more of those signals lately. First, I went to my ob/gyn for the first time in 4 years and got checked. I was told that I am too old for the HPV vaccine - I was aghast! Too old for a vaccination to protect me from Cervical CA? Well, the nice doctor said, HPV is like the cold virus, I would have been exposed to at least five strains now - of course, her assuming that I having had at least 5 sexual partners at this point in my life. Huh? Sigh! The appt. - besides involving the most dehumanizing procedure in the medical world - Pap Smear, that is - is no fun. I gained ten pounds according to the clinic scale - enough to make me run out and vomit all my insides which I think weighed that much! And then, I was told that my uterus is tilted to my rectum instead of towards my abdomen like the majority of woman in the world - and it is soooo tiny. Needless to say, it was not much fun with the speculum after that. Curse these two below:

(Picture of Dr. George Papanicolau, hence, Pap Smear!)
